duties between the members are reduced or removed for originating goods, often in stages and with a list of excluded products. Each country keeps its own duties for the rest of the world.
How to benefit
- 1Check that the product "originates" in the exporting country under the agreement's rules of origin (plain resale from a third country does not count).
- 2Ask the supplier for the proof of origin the agreement requires (certificate or origin declaration) with the invoice.
- 3Present it to customs on arrival: your freight forwarder confirms the preferential rate for the product's HS code.
